• Agia Galini

The most charming village of southern Crete! Agia Galini means “holy rest”. Traditionally it was a fishing village. For many years now tourism is the main source of income but luckily Agia Galini never became a mass tourism resort. Agia Galini is the perfect base where from you can visit many beautiful locations and sights.

The beach of Agia Galini is only a five minutewalk from the village, located in a beautiful bay, and it offers a range of water sports activities. The beach has plenty of sun beds with umbrellas andit is child friendly and protected from the wind. Cosy taverns, terraces and bars along the beach complete the welcoming atmosphere.

In 2014 a beautiful amphitheatre was built at the harbour, decorated with the statues of Deadalus and Icarus, derived from the Greek mythology. At the harbour as well as at the amphitheatre cultural events are frequently being organized.

In the cosy streets of the village and along the harbour you can find delicious food and drinks,go for shopping or just stroll around. The people who work and live in the village are open, welcoming, interesting and very friendly. Agia Galini is really the kind of place where people return to year after year. We are “back home” is what they say!!
